What's the role?
As the Total Rewards Manager, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing compensation, benefits, and wellness programs, policies, and procedures, while shaping and executing a Total Rewards strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives. You will lead the execution and governance of Total Rewards programs across Puerto Rico and the USVI, with a primary focus on compensation strategy, decision‑making, and the annual compensation cycle. This includes key initiatives such as harmonizing grades and levels, evaluating career tracks in partnership with the People team to ensure consistency and fairness, and maintaining strong operational ownership of the benefits ecosystem. The role requires a hands‑on leader capable of navigating a complex and highly regulated environment, effectively balancing cost, compliance, and employee experience. Operating within a lean structure, you may be supported by analytical resources to ensure scalability across benefits operations and compensation analytics, while maintaining strong ownership, accountability, and developing effective communication strategies to drive awareness and understanding of Total Rewards.

Compensation
Lead end-to-end compensation processes, including salary reviews, incentives, and promotions
Own and maintain salary structures, job architecture, and pay governance frameworks
Advise business leaders on compensation decisions, trade‑offs, and pay actions
Partner with Finance to ensure budget alignment and cost discipline
Support pay equity, benchmarking, and market competitiveness analysis
Benefits (Deep Ownership)
Oversee and manage a comprehensive benefits portfolio, including:
Retirement programs:
401(k), pension, regulatory compliance (e.g., Form 5500)
Medical plans:
ASO and fully insured models
Insurance programs:
Life, AD&D, STD, LTD
Health programs:
Dental and vision
Regulatory administration:
COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, FMLA, SINOT
Lead renewals, RFPs, and vendor negotiations
Manage escalations and ensure operational excellence across the benefits lifecycle
Vendor & Cost Strategy
Own relationships with brokers, carriers, and vendors
Drive cost optimization and efficiency strategies
Evaluate financial impact of plan design changes and recommendations
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with US and Puerto Rico regulations
Partner with Legal, Labor Relations, and Finance to mitigate risk
Support union‑related benefits matters, as applicable
Analytics & Decision Support
Analyze cost drivers, claims, and utilization trends
Develop reporting and dashboards for leadership visibility
Translate data into actionable insights to support decision‑making
Communication & Employee Experience
Lead Open Enrollment strategy and execution
Drive benefits education and communication initiatives
Enhance employee understanding and perceived value of Total Rewards
Demonstrate and maintain compliance with the Customer First Philosophy, Liberty Latin America’s policies and procedures including the Code of Conduct and Liberty safety standards and procedures.
Other functions may be assigned.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources. Master’s Degree preferred.
5-8 years of progressive HR experience, specifically in compensation, benefits administration and data analytics.
Other Qualifications
Fully Bilingual (Spanish and English).
Knowledge of wellbeing programs, including mental and physical health initiatives, leave of absence programs, including FMLA, disability, and workers’ compensation.
Strong understanding of innovative compensation design principles and practices, including experience with equity‑based compensation.
Knowledge of associate benefits programs, including health, and retirement plans.
Ability to properly maintain confidential or sensitive information.
Ability to manage several projects and tasks at a time.
Strive to effectively respond and interact with all levels of organizational staff, including executives.
High level computer expertise, including use of database, word processing, spreadsheet (Excel), and presentation applications.
Excellent analytical skills, resourcefulness, and strong organization skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
