Creates part programs utilizing Catia V5 to control machining or processing of metal by automatic machine tools, equipment, or systems. Use Vericut software for program validation.
Essential Functions

Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications.
Design data in order to calculate dimensions, tool selections, machine speeds, and feed rates.
Create geometric layouts from graphic displays.
Determine and create the required reference points or machine cutting paths and the sequence of machine operations.
Conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs and machinery will function properly and produce parts that meet customer specifications.
Observe machines on trial runs with internal customer to verify program.
Revise programs and/or tapes to eliminate errors, and retest programs to check that problems have been solved.
Substantially perform modifications to existing programs to enhance efficiency.
Collaborate with internal and external customers as needed to support part programming and design requirements.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED equivalent is required
Catia V5 6R 2023 Certification is preferred
Minimum of 3 years aerospace CNC machine programming experience required
Other Required Skills and Abilities
Experience reading & accurately interpreting shop blueprints, sketches, and other technical information/instructions is required
Demonstrated basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fraction conversions)
Experience troubleshooting production issues and program edits
Demonstrated reliability and ability to maintain consistent performance and attendance
Physical Demands and Work Environment
To perform the essential functions of the role, employees must be able to perform the following activities with or without reasonable accommodations:
Occasional presence on the shop floor may be required to observe machine operations and validate programs
Assist with moving materials using team lift procedures or mechanical equipment as needed
Occasionally reaches overhead and reaches out or down to perform duties
Frequently climb steps, stairs, or ladders
Occasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel
Frequently uses hand or fingers to manually inspect parts, tighten hardware & fixtures, and operate machine and material handling controls
Ability to interpret visual indicators, including color-coded systems, with or without reasonable accommodation
Visual acuity to interpret readings on gauges and other measuring devices
Working Conditions
Extreme temperatures (occasionally)
Hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment
