Intervention Specialist – Social Communication (2 Positions)
for the 2026-2027 school year.
Position:
Heritage Hill Elementary – Full Time, 186 Days; 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Qualifications:
Proper Ohio Department of Education credentialing is required or is on a path to earning Resident Educator status in Ohio.
Intervention Specialist (K-12) Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Intensive licensure.
All applicants must meet Highly Qualified status, and licensure must be appropriate to teach assigned coursework.
Special Knowledge or Skills:
Knowledge of IEP development, compliance, and progress monitoring.
Ability to differentiate instruction and provide appropriate accommodations.
Strong data use to guide instruction and interventions.
Collaboration skills for co-teaching and working with staff and families.
Effective communication with students, families, and team members.
Organization and time management to handle caseload responsibilities.
Understanding of diverse learning and behavioral needs.
Ability to build positive relationships with students and support engagement.
Major Duties:
Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Provide specially designed instruction based on individual student needs.
Differentiate lessons and implement accommodations/modifications in general education settings.
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff.
Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs.
Maintain accurate documentation, including progress reports and compliance records.
Support students' social, behavioral, and academic development.
Participate in team meetings (IEP, TBTs, MTSS, etc.).
Ensure a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
Compensation:
Compensation will be assigned based on experience and education using the negotiated contract and will include full benefits.
