
Area Branch Manager - Field Operations

About the Role
The Area Business Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational, financial, and sales performance of multiple branch locations within a designated geographic area. This position provides strategic leadership and direction to Branch Managers and their teams to ensure achievement of revenue targets, operational efficiency, and compliance with SouthernCarlson’s corporate policies, procedures, and ethical standards. The Area Business Manager partners closely with Operations, Sales, Finance, HR, and Compliance to drive consistent execution of company initiatives, enhance customer satisfaction, and strengthen profitability and market growth within the assigned area.
Responsibilities
Drive sales growth
by developing and executing area business strategies, identifying market opportunities, and supporting key customer relationships.
Monitor branch-level financial performance , including revenue generation, expense control, and profitability metrics.
Promote customer retention and new business development
with the Sales organization.
Collaborate with Sales and Operations leadership
to develop and execute area business plans, growth strategies, and customer service initiatives.
Identify and secure new business opportunities
within existing and emerging markets, ensuring alignment with company capabilities and objectives.
Support contract execution, pricing strategies, and service delivery excellence
with Regional and National Account teams.
Develop and maintain strong relationships
with key customers, distributors, and industry partners to enhance brand loyalty and market presence.
Monitor sales pipelines, forecasts, and performance metrics
to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for business expansion.
Lead the development and implementation of local marketing initiatives , trade events, and promotional activities to strengthen regional presence.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales Management, or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in sales, operations, or business management within a distribution, industrial, or construction supply environment.
Experience with ERP systems and data‑driven sales strategy preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Comprehensive understanding of sales processes, pricing strategy, and customer relationship management in a B2B environment.
Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to interpret data, analyze market trends, and influence strategic decisions.
Ability to travel frequently within the assigned area.
Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
