Job Description
You will be the Corrosion Low Observable Crew Chief – Aircraft Mechanic, F‑35 – Level 4 for the F‑35 Corrosion Maintenance Team which is responsible for ensuring aircraft readiness through expert corrosion control and maintenance on the F‑35 CTOL airframe. This position is located in Ghedi, Italy, on the southwestern side of Lake Garda.

Responsibilities

Lead nose‑to‑tail corrosion maintenance on the F‑35 CTOL airframe, applying expertise in Low Observable Materials.

Conduct and oversee corrosion inspections, ensuring compliance with F‑35 standards and Joint Technical Data.

Perform on‑the‑job training for team members and partner personnel.

Manage workorder documentation, action requests, and update and document discrepancies in the Corrosion Management System and Low Observable Health Assessment System (LOHAS) within the Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Physical Requirements
Position may require extended work hours, lifting up to 50 pounds, repetitive movements, overhead work, use of hands to grasp, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms. Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and twisting, as well as confined space entry.

Qualifications

Must have 2 years of hands‑on F‑35 maintenance experience, including knowledge of Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS), Anomaly Fault Resolution System, Customer Relationship Management, Joint Technical Data Navigation, Portable Maintenance Aid (PMA)/Maintenance Vehicle Interface (MVI) activities, Configuration Management, and supply‑chain management.

Must have an associate’s degree or FAA A&P License with 4 years related experience; alternatively, a high school diploma with 8 years of specialized working experience as a 5 or 7‑skill level USAF AFSC, CDI/CDQAR Navy NEC, or CDI/CDQAR United States Marine Corps, or equivalent on Fighter Attack Aircraft.

Knowledge of safety practices, tool control, foreign object damage (FOD), supply, hazardous maintenance activities, and supervision of other maintenance activities on aircraft.

Experience documenting discrepancies in the Corrosion Management System and LOHAS, and supporting supply‑chain management activities.

Desired Skills

FAA aircraft and Power Plant Mechanic license.

Experience in Low Observable (LO) materials and processes, LOHAS, and LO verification.

Experience in F‑35 Avionics.

Experience in Crew Chief/Plane Captain duties.

Experience with the Nose‑to‑Tail maintenance concept.

Experience as an on‑the‑job trainer.

Good communication skills.

Ability to speak/read Italian.

Experience interfacing with NATO customers.

International expatriate experience.

Security Clearance
This position requires a government security clearance. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen and hold an active Secret clearance. Must also possess special access required at the facility.
