
Energy Risk Management Specialist I

As an Energy Risk Management Specialist I, you will help monitor, analyze, and report on energy market risk tied to power marketing, trading activities, and commodity transactions. You will gain hands‑on experience with energy markets, financial risk analysis, and compliance while supporting real‑time decision‑making that impacts power generation and pricing.

What You’ll Do
Support tracking and validation of energy transactions across power, natural gas, and other commodities
Assist with monitoring portfolio risk, including credit exposure and market risk positions
Help prepare monthly risk reports for Finance, Audit, and Risk discussions
Participate in settlement processes for energy markets, including RTO transactions
Collaborate with Power Marketing and Finance teams to ensure accurate data and reporting
Contribute to maintaining risk systems, policies, and compliance documentation
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, engineering, or related field; equivalent experience
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail
Foundational knowledge of Excel and data analysis
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Clear communication skills and ability to work across teams
Interest in energy markets, quantitative analysis, or regulatory compliance
