Overview
Job Description Responsible for collaborating with physicians, advance practice providers (APPs), and other medical staff to evaluate, plan, and implement patient assessments and follow-ups. Directly involved in patient care through medical consultation, research, treatments, and education. Specializes in Cardiology and recommends appropriate course of treatment through medical diagnosis while working closely with the physicians.
Principal Accountabilities
Supervises treatments and obtains medical records, evaluates patients, order tests or scans, diagnoses diseases, and prescribes medications and prescriptions.
Provides medical consultation on both invasive and non-invasive cardiology procedures.
Specializes in cardiology and provides subject matter expertise and treatment courses on heart health and wellness.
Performs medical procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
Partners with physicians in developing treatment plans and advises physicians on changes in a patient's condition.
Monitors and ensures accuracy of patient medical records.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Master's degree as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from an accredited program
NP or PA Certification and NJ License is required
DEA and CDS is required
ACLS and BLS required
Minimum of 2-3 years of Critical Care or Cardiology experience
Must have excellent communication and computer skills
Strong work ethic and a team player who can work independently
