The Performance Metrics & Optimization Manager is part of the U.S. Consumer Cards (USCC) Marketing Business Execution (BE) team, and partners closely with other parts of the BE team (e.g., Forecasting, Marketing Resources Management), as well as Marketing (e.g., Acquisitions, Customer Marketing, Paid Media, etc.), Finance, Analytics and product teams.
Responsibilities
Investment Allocation Management: oversee the quarterly USCC Marketing investment allocation process, which includes allocating the marketing budget based on profitability metrics to optimize P&L outcomes
Cost Per Account (CPA) Reporting: own CPA reporting, in addition to enhancing with Identity Based Attribution (IBA) integration. Includes leading the monthly CPA forum with stakeholders across USCC Marketing
Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Tracking: own the process to track critical USCC Marketing KPIs and provide qualitative explanations of quantitative results in reporting commentary
Identity Based Attribution (IBA) Integration and Operationalization: lead the operationalization of Identity-Based Attribution (IBA) by socializing the new methodology and recalibrating existing reporting, forecasting, and decision-making processes
Process Governance and Operational Risk Management: managing key marketing process models within the enterprise architecture framework, including Campaign Performance Management and Develop and Plan Marketing Strategies. Additionally, this role will own and maintain the official process procedure documents for the marketing investment allocation and KPI tracking processes
Provide Shared Capabilities Services to Wealth Marketing: for the Retail Bank, Citigold, and Mortgage segments, manage the investment allocation processes for each business, CPA forums, and KPI tracking
Process Governance and Operational Risk Management: managing key marketing process models within the enterprise architecture framework, including Campaign Performance Management and Develop and Plan Marketing Strategies
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in global and complex settings with multiple stakeholders
Management experience, preferably in a financial services role
Knowledge of the financial services industry and technology
Demonstrated ability to manage a team
Proven ability to work in high-pressure environments
Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
Financial Reporting/ Modeling: Comprehensive financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives
KPIs: Ability to define, track, and interpret key performance indicators
Data Interpretation: Ability to analyze financial data and translate it into actionable insights
Process Design & Documentation: Experience in mapping, simplifying, and documenting operational processes
PowerPoint Storytelling: Ability to create high-impact presentations for senior leadership using performance insights and structured narratives
Strong cross-functional communication with partners
Proven track record of supporting or owning executive deliverables
Experience navigating complex organizations and managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
Strong organization and self-management skills; capable of both independent execution and collaborative work
Education
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master's degree preferred
