Student Worker – Social Media Management Intern

Purpose/Objective of the Role:
To serve as a stakeholder in growing the visibility and professional brand of Ohio Wesleyan Esports. This role moves beyond simple posting to help design and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that maintains a consistent, high-impact digital presence.
Tasks & Responsibilities :
Strategy Development:
Collaborate directly with the Director to develop a seasonal content calendar and long-term social media growth strategy.
Consistent Posting:
Establish and maintain a reliable daily or weekly posting cadence across Instagram, Twitter/X, and other emerging platforms.
Brand Stewardship:
Ensure all posts align with a unified OWU Esports voice, aesthetic, and professional branding standards.
Content Creation:
Proactively capture, edit, and curate high-quality photos and videos from practices, matches, and team events.
Promotion & Reporting:
Manage the promotion of team achievements and match results while monitoring analytics to track engagement and follower growth.
Campaign Planning:
Assist in the design of specific marketing campaigns for recruitment, tournament cycles, and special campus events.
Qualifications:
Strategic Mindset:
Strong interest in digital media, marketing, or brand strategy.
Creative Execution:
Proficient in creating visually compelling assets using Canva or similar design tools.
Exceptional writing skills with the ability to adapt tone for different platforms and audiences.
Reliability:
Highly organized and dependable, with the ability to manage a content schedule independently and meet strict deadlines.
Technical Skills:
Experience with video/photo editing.
Build a comprehensive professional portfolio that demonstrates the ability to manage a brand's digital identity from the ground up. This role provides high-level experience in content strategy, audience analytics, and digital communication—essential for careers in professional marketing, social media management, or esports media.
