Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Manufacturing Engineering Manager 2. This position is in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.

What You’ll Get To Do:
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager 2 to lead the Sentinel Program’s Manufacturing Engineers (ME) in Roy, Utah. This position is supporting the development of the Systems Test Team (STT). You will lead the onsite ME Team as a member of the Sentinel Manufacturing leadership team, interfacing with other Manufacturing team members, customers and suppliers. As the lead for this team of MEs, you will be responsible for the timely execution of the specific SOWs supporting the STT build and delivery, as well as managing the ME resources required to execute the SOW. The individual will have working knowledge of ME related processes for performing producibility analysis, creating manufacturing plans, creating the Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM), creating work instructions, assessing supplier capabilities utilizing MRA processes as defined by the DOD MRA handbook as well as having the ability to assimilate / collate the metrics for internal and customer reporting.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the STT Manufacturing Lead to assess SOW requirements for the execution of Sentinel program requirements related to Manufacturing Engineering for the various STT builds and delivery SOWs

Develop and co-ordinate accurate and executable resource plans, assist with creation of Integrated Master Schedules, work plans and associated status tracking metrics

Provide guidance and direction for the team of Manufacturing Engineers who are executing the SOW requirements

Collaborate across the ME Team to ensure consistency in the use of Digital Engineering processes, tools and methods for accomplishing the development work leading to Production

Develop team members for growth in work scope capability and job satisfaction

Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, identify program opportunities for improvement and obtain solutions as applicable

Conduct assessments of team member’s performance related to team and individual goals

The candidate will need to demonstrate exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, and to have the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively with varying levels of Customer, NGC, Supplier employees and leadership

Experience leading the team to perform at cost and schedule while achieving all requirements.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business related field and a minimum 8 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years’ experience.

Must have an Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

Demonstrated management experience leading a technical and complex program effort.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

1 year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule

Nice to Have Qualifications:

Managing people experience

Prior experience operating in a dynamic environment of increasing build schedules and high delivery rates

Preferred candidate will be a proven leader; problem solver; possess a strong work ethic and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to work closely with teammates, stakeholders and both internal and external customers.

Familiarity with Northrop Grumman Manufacturing Engineering processes and procedures.

Knowledge and experience with digital Production Planning tools and functions such as Manufacturing Execution Systems

Experience with digital engineering tools such as NX, CATIA, etc.

Knowledge of Product Data Manager or Product Lifecycle Manager tools

Experience working with Systems Applications and Products (SAP)

Prior experience with ICBM program structural fabrication and assembly

Primary Level Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $172,400.00

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
