Rooted, stable heavy equipment manufacturer is seeking a
Continuous Improvement Engineer Lead . As the Continuous Improvement Engineer Lead, you will oversee a small team and will report to the VP of Operations. Your daily responsibilities will include:
Lead, identify, and facilitate continuous improvement efforts focused on cost savings, scrap reduction, increasing efficiency, etc.
Develop, evaluate, and monitor plant KPIs and metrics
Manage site capital equipment projects, including completing cost justifications and managing timelines and budgets
Determine manufacturability for new projects
Establish and improve plant standard operating procedures
Participate in and support team‑oriented projects and meetings
Read blueprints to troubleshoot manufacturing and production issues
Communicate with suppliers, vendors, and customers as needed
Analyze production and engineering data and identify areas of improvement
Investigate internal and external quality failures by leading root cause analysis and corrective actions
Utilize formal problem solving skills, including 5WHY
Training, coaching, and mentoring your team
Support mechanical troubleshooting as needed
Utilize AutoCAD and 3D modeling software
Other duties as directed by management
As a Continuous Improvement Engineer Lead, you will spend up to 50% of the day on the manufacturing floor. Successful candidates will have drive, be able to work independently, be self‑directed, enjoy floor time, be able to create "buy‑in" on the floor and have the desire to grow with the company.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role, ideally engineering and/or operations
Experience working in fabrication, welding and/or paint manufacturing environments
Experience supervising or providing daily direction to others
Working knowledge of standard operating procedures
Experience supporting root case analysis and corrective actions
Experience identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
Mechanical aptitude
Ability to read blueprints
Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
Skills Preferred
OEM experience
Working knowledge of ERP systems
Job shop environments
QMS environments, such as ISO 9001, etc.
AutoCAD and/or 3D modeling
5WHY experience
