Maintenance Engineer / General Maintenance – Hyatt
Position Summary: The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the hotel’s facilities, guest rooms, and equipment are maintained in excellent condition. This role supports the overall guest experience by ensuring all systems are in proper working order and that the property meets Hyatt’s standards for safety, functionality, and appearance.
Property Maintenance
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces
Ensure all equipment, systems, and fixtures are in proper working condition
Complete preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders
Working Order (Core Metric)
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
Minimize equipment downtime through proactive monitoring and quick response
Ensure all in‑room features (lighting, fixtures, appliances) function properly
Condition (Core Metric)
Maintain the overall appearance of the hotel, including repairs, painting, and upkeep
Identify and address wear and tear to uphold Hyatt brand standards
Assist with room inspections to ensure readiness and quality
Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
Maintain proper records of maintenance activities and inspections
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Respond to emergency situations as needed
Team Collaboration
Work closely with housekeeping and front desk to ensure room readiness
Communicate maintenance updates and issues clearly across departments
Support renovation projects or property improvements as needed
Qualifications
Previous maintenance or engineering experience preferred (hospitality a plus)
Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
Ability to use hand and power tools safely
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
