
Resort Maintenance Engineer

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the overall upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of the hotel’s facilities, guest rooms, and equipment. This role ensures all systems operate efficiently and safely while supporting a seamless guest experience aligned with the resort’s standards of quality and “barefoot luxury.”
Key Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance & Repairs
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest service calls
Ensure all equipment and systems are functioning safely and efficiently
Preventative Maintenance
Execute scheduled preventative maintenance programs for rooms, pools, marina areas, and facilities
Inspect property regularly to identify and address potential issues before they escalated
Maintain accurate logs of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs
Guest Experience
Interact professionally with guests when performing in-room repairs
Ensure all work is completed with minimal disruption to the guest experience
Uphold cleanliness and presentation standards in all work areas
Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Maintain proper handling and storage of tools, equipment, and chemicals
Assist with emergency response procedures (storms, power outages, etc.)
Grounds & Resort Support
Assist with upkeep of outdoor areas including pool decks, beach areas, marina, and walkways
Support event setups, breakdowns, and operational needs as required
Collaborate with other departments to ensure overall property readiness
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 2–3 years of maintenance experience in a hotel, resort, or similar environment
Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently
Basic knowledge of tools, equipment, and maintenance procedures
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
