Overview
The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the hotel property to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests and staff. This role performs preventative maintenance and responds to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
Responsibilities
Perform routine preventive maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house areas.
Repair and maintain plumbing systems (toilets, sinks, faucets, drains, washing machines, ice makers).
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems.
Perform basic electrical repairs (light fixtures, outlets, breakers).
Repair doors, locks, keycard systems, windows, and hardware.
Address and repair drywall, painting, and minor carpentry work.
Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems; maintain logs of completed maintenance tasks; ensure compliance with brand and safety standards.
Inspect fire safety systems and emergency lighting.
Respond promptly to guest service requests; repair appliances (microwaves, refrigerators, TVs); ensure rooms meet brand standards before occupancy; replace light bulbs, batteries, filters, and other consumables.
Maintain parking lots, walkways, and landscaping areas; remove trash and debris from exterior areas; monitor outdoor lighting and signage.
Follow OSHA and local safety regulations; maintain tools and equipment in safe condition; report safety hazards immediately; assist during emergency situations (power outages, plumbing leaks, etc.).
Other duties as required by management.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of maintenance experience (hotel experience preferred).
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
Ability to use hand and power tools safely. Prefer candidate to have some tools.
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Valid driver’s license (if required).
Background check required.
