About the Role
As a GNC Engineer you will join the GN&C team on the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program. In this role you may be involved in the following activities:
Apply missile guidance, navigation, and control expertise to algorithm development, signal and data processing, modeling, and simulation
Integrate Matlab/Simulink models into a 6‑DOF C++ simulation
Develop high‑fidelity models and simulation software
Develop new source code in C++ and Python
Modify code in C++, C, Matlab, Simulink, Fortran, Python, Linux shell, and YAML
Create unit tests
Implement simulation software on a high‑performance computing cluster including Linux systems or VMs
Work in an Agile DevOps environment with Docker/Container and Kubernetes deployment
Collaborate with the performance‑critical thinkers, Flight Software team, and customer

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited school in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related field
Course knowledge in rigid‑body dynamics, control theory, and/or computer programming
Course knowledge using MATLAB and/or Simulink for simulation and analysis of feedback control systems, closed‑loop guidance, or navigation algorithms
Strong math skills in linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and/or coordinate transformation
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative team environment
Interim Secret Clearance required to start
Desired Skills
Experience with simulations and physics‑based modeling
Experience with state estimation and navigation algorithms, including Extended Kalman Filters
Experience with kinematics using Euler Angles and Quaternions
Experience with autopilot design and linear stability analysis
Familiarity or experience with missile defense systems or fire control
Experience with C++ development and Gitlab
Experience with FORTRAN and 6‑DOF simulations
Experience with model‑based software development using Simulink (autocoding)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability as a team player to build consensus among peers and build effective relationships with team members
Demonstrated communication skills to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers
Familiarity with agile software development
Distributed/parallel processing experience
Possess a Secret clearance
Security Clearance
Interim Secret Clearance required to start. Possess a Secret clearance. This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range (California, Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, Washington DC): $68,000 – $119,830. For other states the range reflects the final work location.
