Secretary II (Administrative Assistant)
The Secretary II (Administrative Assistant) provides administrative and clerical support services to the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) in Norco, CA. Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to NSWC staff and leadership
Prepare, edit, and format correspondence, reports, and official documentation
Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate logistics
Maintain office files, records, and documentation in accordance with federal guidelines
Answer phones, route calls, and respond to inquiries
Assist with data entry, tracking, and maintaining spreadsheets
Coordinate travel arrangements and prepare travel documentation as required
Support meeting preparation, including agendas, materials, and note-taking
Handle incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence
Maintain office supplies and support general office operations
Ensure accuracy and organization of administrative records and files
Provide general clerical support as assigned
Requirements
Education:
High School Diploma required
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of administrative or clerical experience
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
Additional administrative or office support experience in a federal or DoD environment
Familiarity with Navy or Department of Defense administrative processes
Experience supporting multiple stakeholders or teams
Security Requirements
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
Ability to pass background investigation and meet federal security requirements
