Strategic Student Program: R&D Software Engineering Intern
Hybrid location: Charlotte, NC. Summer 2026. Possible full‑time offer upon graduation.

Responsibilities

Partner with senior design engineers to develop, modify, and implement software programs.

Research and develop innovative algorithms to confront business challenges.

Create documentation from independent research findings, including white papers.

Push the limits of current software portfolios to expand business into new areas.

Research how a cutting‑edge software concept can be incorporated into the Siemens Software portfolio.

Explore research topics such as full‑stack development, artificial intelligence, and others.

Requirements & Qualifications

Currently enrolled as a university master’s student (Master of Science in Computer Engineering preferred).

Graduation no earlier than 2027.

Upper‑classman status and prior co‑op experience preferred.

Must be proactive, self‑driven, capable of setting personal timelines, and disciplined.

Rapidly learn new development languages, coding techniques, and object‑oriented programming concepts.

Strong knowledge of class inheritance and troubleshooting skills.

Creative, fast learner willing to tackle technical challenges.

Independently minded, self‑motivated researcher adaptable to new tasks.

Benefits

Hourly pay range: $18.00–$50.00 per hour (dependent on location and experience).
