Software Engineering Intern – Strategic Student Program (SSP)
We are recruiting students for our Summer 2026 Strategic Student Program.
Job Overview
The Technology & Innovation office (T&I) is responsible for high‑tech research and design. Internship assignments vary based on business needs; interns may partner with senior design engineers, research innovative algorithms, create documentation, push the limits of our software portfolio, and explore cutting‑edge concepts such as full‑stack development and artificial intelligence.
Responsibilities
Partner with senior design engineers to develop, modify, and implement software programs
Research and develop innovative algorithms to confront business challenges
Create documentation from independent research findings, including white papers
Push the limits of our current software portfolios to expand our business into new areas
Research how a cutting‑edge software concept could be incorporated into the Siemens Software portfolio
Explore research topics such as full‑stack development and artificial intelligence
Requirements
Currently enrolled as a university master’s student
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Graduation no earlier than 2027
Hybrid work location: Charlotte, NC
Studying for a Master of Science in Computer Engineering
Strong coding skills in C, C++, JAVA, JavaScript, or HTML
Upper‑classman preferred (with prior co‑op experience)
Proactive, capable of setting timelines, able to work independently, and disciplined
Rapidly learn new development languages and coding techniques
Strong knowledge of object‑oriented programming
Understanding of class and inheritance concepts
Sharp and tenacious troubleshooting skills
Unwavering passion for solving technical challenges
Creative, fast learner
Independent thinker and self‑motivated researcher
Adaptable to new tasks with little lead time

Compensation
Hourly range: $18.00 to $50.00. Actual compensation depends on work location, degree type, and education.
