Atlantic Health is hiring a Per Diem Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) for Neurocritical Care
Atlantic Health, one of New Jersey's largest non‑profit healthcare networks, seeks a Per Diem Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) to join the Trauma and Acute Care Center at the Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center. The applicant will provide clinical management for critically ill complex neuro patients within a 24‑hour coverage model and work a minimum of two shifts per month.
Responsibilities
Obtain health histories and complete neuro and physical examinations, document findings, and order & interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests.
Explain the necessity and potential effects of procedures to patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Formulate and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Assess the patient for changes in status and institute appropriate interventions to stabilize the patient.
Provide family‑centered care by communicating patient needs to families.
Support IRB‑approved clinical research/trials through various activities.
Participate in quality performance improvement activities and clinical research.
Serve as a clinical expert and leadership consultant to nursing, healthcare team members, and the larger community.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program.
Licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey.
ACLS and BLS required; ENLS Certified preferred.
1–2 years of experience in Neurocritical Care.
Excellent communication and computer skills.
