Overview

Shasta Regional Medical Center is a 226‑bed acute care facility serving Northern California. Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN provides direct patient care, guides patient and family teaching, and oversees other nursing personnel while maintaining the standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry. In the Emergency Department, the RN is directly accountable for patient care, communicates with physicians about changes in clinical condition, diagnostic results, and symptomatology, and responds quickly and accurately to shifts in condition or treatment response. The RN is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and the reporting of child or adult abuse to the proper agencies and hospital social worker, and maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
Qualifications

Current and valid state RN license.
Current BLS (AHA) certificate at hire and maintained thereafter.
Current ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
Current PALS (AHA) certificate and/or ENPC within 90 days of hire.
Basic Arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire.
Minimum one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital; ER preferred.
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Facility Specific Requirements

In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric courses 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
Non‑OB facilities: NRP (AHA) certificate within 90 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire.

Pay Transparency

Competitive compensation range $43.28 to $71.14 per hour. Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreement requirements and employment status. The starting compensation will be determined at the time of selecting a candidate based on skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
