The Opportunity
Step into a pivotal leadership role within a premier international ECPM group. We are seeking a
Project Controls Manager
to serve as the strategic backbone for large-scale mining, minerals, and metals projects across the Americas.
In this high-visibility, client-facing position based in our
Phoenix hub , you will own the systems and interfaces that ensure multi-million dollar capital projects remain on track and under budget. You aren't just reporting data; you are influencing the financial health and execution strategy of some of the world’s most complex industrial infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Client Liaison:
Act as the primary interface between the Client and the EPCM team, managing all project control activities in strict alignment with prime EPCM agreements.
Financial & Schedule Stewardship:
Oversee integrated cost and schedule management across multiple contracts, ensuring all procedures meet rigorous corporate and industry standards.
Forecasting & Risk Mitigation:
Lead forecast meetings and prepare consolidated capital cost estimates. Identify key risks and opportunities early, providing data-backed recommendations on contingency and escalation draw-downs.
Change & Trend Management:
Implement and maintain robust trending processes, change registers, and variance analysis to ensure project management is never caught off guard.
Earned Value Management (EVM):
Apply advanced EVM principles and performance metrics to drive accuracy in month-end documentation, vendor invoice processing, and EPCM reporting.
Performance Reporting:
Deliver concise, informative, and high-impact reports to Project Managers and Clients, visualizing cash flow forecasts, commitment curves, and critical path analysis.
Professional Requirements
Industry Tenure:
15–20 years of professional experience, with a heavy emphasis on the
Mining, Minerals, or Metals
sectors.
Scale & Complexity:
Proven track record managing project controls for
large-scale ECPM projects
and leading multi-disciplinary teams through all phases (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management).
Technical Expertise:
Deep knowledge of cost control, planning, estimation, and contract administration.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is highly desirable.
Credentials:
Affiliation with
AACE
or
PMI
(CCP, PSP, or PMP certifications) is a significant plus.
Tools:
Mastery of MS Office Suite and industry-standard project management/scheduling software.
Leadership Presence:
Exceptional ability to manage conflicts, influence project teams, and maintain professional relationships with high-level client stakeholders.
