Senior Principal Electrical Engineer

Overview
The successful candidate will design electrical power distribution systems involving protective relays, PLC controls, and power monitoring using computer‑aided design tools to produce one‑line, three‑line, control schematics, wiring diagrams, and physical layouts of medium‑voltage electrical products and equipment (2.4‑38 kV) serving the ANSI/IEEE, UL, and North American markets.
This role is responsible for providing all aspects of customer support, consulting on the application of products and solutions with end users, consultants, contractors, Schneider Electric sales, quotation, and project execution teams, and working closely with factory support functions (production, supply chain, purchasing, and customer service) to deliver a superior customer experience.
Main Activities
Generate and ensure the technical quality of deliverables (drawings, bills of material, services)
Ensure compliance with the project's objectives
Continuously improve the design activity in terms of technical knowledge, efficiency, processes, quality, and service level
Collaborate with other engineering and quality teams to maintain compliance with design intent and safety considerations
Qualifications / Minimum Requirements
Translate customer requirements into electrical designs; create deliverables including one‑lines, three‑lines, control schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of material
Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications for medium‑voltage equipment
Work in a mix between office and manufacturing environments
Gain full proficiency in Engineering and related tools: SEE XP, AutoCAD, Symmetry, LDS, ODM+
Subject‑matter expert in electrical application design processes, procedures, and tools
Manage time effectively and acknowledge raised eAndons from manufacturing
Communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external customers
Hold a 4‑year electrical engineering degree
Have 10‑12 years of experience designing and engineering medium‑voltage electrical distribution equipment, including protection and control of power distribution systems
Apply applicable codes and standards
Exhibit excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Show strong initiative to learn and grow in a fast‑paced environment, with aptitude for electrical engineering of distribution equipment
Be a U.S. citizen or have legal right to work in the U.S. with no sponsorship requirement
Serve as a primary technical leader in the medium‑voltage space
Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration is highly preferred
