Job Description: Accepting application for Intermittent Groundskeeper 1. This position can work 1,000 hours per fiscal year (July 1st - June 30th). Job Description: performs routine, non-skilled grounds maintenance duties (i.e. care, maintenance & renovation of Tiffin Developmental Center grounds); mows, trims & edges lawns; applies mulch, weeds and water lawns and flower beds, trims shrubs, cleans grounds, sidewalks & parking lots (i.e. removes paper & debris), clears walks, roads & parking areas of ice, snow &/or liter, applies ice-melt salt to walking surfaces in winter months as needed; performs routine maintenance of grounds equipment (i.e. paints, oils, sharpens); fertilizes lawns, trees & shrubs; plants trees, shrubs & flowers; sprays to control insects & disease as assigned; remove and dispose of animal carcasses. performs related duties (i.e. attends training events & meetings as assigned); keeps records; files incident reports; escalates groundskeeping-related issues as needed to Building Maintenance Superintendent

Qualifications
Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication & division; in Department Of Natural Resources only, if assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of revised code, must also possess valid commercial drivers license; in accordance with Section 124.11 (b)(2) of revised code, Director Of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class & therefore exempt from written examination. -Or equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
