Position Overview
CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform clinical laboratory testing at a federal prison camp in Alderson, West Virginia. FPC Alderson is a minimum-security federal prison camp for female inmates in rural southeastern West Virginia. You will conduct hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, and microbiology testing, maintaining CLIA compliance and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
Perform clinical laboratory testing across multiple disciplines
Collect, process, and analyze patient specimens following CLSI standards
Operate and maintain laboratory analyzers and point-of-care equipment
Perform quality control, proficiency testing, and instrument calibrations
Review and release results, flagging critical values for immediate notification
Support infectious disease and women's health screening programs
Ensure CLIA and BOP laboratory compliance
Required Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
ASCP certification (MLT or MLS)
Current BLS certification
U.S. citizenship required
Ability to pass federal background investigation
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor degree in CLS preferred
Point-of-care testing experience
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $52,000 - $68,000 annually
