About the Termeer Center
The Termeer Center is a 22‑chair, state‑of‑the‑art, first‑in‑human phase‑1 clinical trials unit located within the Division of Hematology and Oncology. The center refers adult cancer patients to the unit for treatment with phase‑1 research drugs and has been the lead site for the approval of 25 new cancer drugs since 2012.
Shift & Hours
4 ten‑hour shifts, Monday‑Friday, 7:00 am–5:30 pm. Set schedule.
Responsibilities
Provide patient education, medication administration, symptom management and documentation of toxicities for patients participating in clinical trials.
Coordinate with research nurses to administer medications and collect data per protocol specifications in a timely and efficient manner.
Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
Administer medications, monitor patients for reactions or side effects, record medical information and vital signs, and monitor and report symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
Consult and coordinate with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patient responses and conditions.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of oncology RN experience; 3 years preferred.
Oncology infusion experience and current chemotherapy certification strongly preferred.
Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience in lieu of a degree is not accepted.
Registered Nurse license (state). 0‑1 year of clinical nursing experience required.
Knowledge of practical nursing principles and patient care for various age groups.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
Knowledge of medical terminology and excellent verbal communication skills.
Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.

Compensation
$41.72–$105.65 per hour. Pay range reflects minimum qualifications and may vary based on education, experience, certifications and other factors.
