Job Summary

Responsible for supporting the Enterprise Environmental Services team with the development and implementation of processes required to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations. This role will provide support to Entergy’s growth strategy through proactive engagement and environmental risk management, and help Entergy achieve its sustainability goals by driving world‑class performance in environmental management, approvals management, regulatory compliance and related programs.

Responsibilities

Analyze existing, proposed and newly‑adopted environmental laws, regulations and policies; develop regulatory guidance, prepare company perspectives, and communicate potential issues and opportunities internally and externally to support compliance and continuous improvement.
Prepare, review, and submit environmental reports, plans and permit applications.
Assist with preparation and presentation of environmental training.
Help plants ensure regulatory compliance, assess compliance performance, and develop action plans for continuous improvement.
Conduct desktop environmental impact evaluations of Entergy projects, including:

Review applicable information from Maximo or other project information.
Coordinate with project contacts/vendors for information requests.

Perform initial desktop ecological impact evaluations to identify permit acquisition needs under applicable environmental regulations (air, water, storm water general/industrial permits, wetlands, natural resources, local/county).
Support Phase I and II due diligence investigations associated with real‑estate transactions.
Identify and/or provide support for technology/process improvements.
Communicate issues through presentations and writing, distribute concise, timely and accurate summaries, review routine reports for project management and leadership, and negotiate with state/federal agencies on the Company’s behalf to arrive at favorable solutions.
Minimum Requirements

Education

Actively pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or other science‑related field from an accredited college or university.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
Experience & Qualifications

Physically able to conduct field environmental investigations at sites with restricted access.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities.
Self‑starter; requires little or no supervision.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of power generation fundamentals is an asset.

As a provider of essential services, Entergy expects employees to be available to work additional hours, in alternate locations, and/or to perform additional duties in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as deemed necessary by the company.
