INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center, Oklahoma’s largest not-for-profit health system, is hiring an Acute Care Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in Oklahoma City, OK. In this role you will be part of our rehabilitation team, supporting INTEGRIS Health caregivers and the community.

The Physical Therapist Assistant provides direct therapy procedures and interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, adhering to National Patient Safety Goals. INTEGRIS Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.

Responsibilities

Assesses patient performance commensurate with training and qualifications. Recommends equipment or architectural barrier modifications to the therapist of record.

Acts as clinical instructor and/or assists with orientation of new employees or volunteers.

Responsible for therapeutic exercise, functional training related to physical movement and mobility in self‑care, home, community, and work settings, manual therapy techniques, prescription, application, and fabrication of devices and equipment, airway clearance techniques, wound management, and electrotherapeutic modalities.

Educates persons served and other stakeholders.

Communicates and documents treatment and appropriate charges per policy and procedure.

Demonstrates time‑management skills, offers assistance to other therapist staff when caseload is unbalanced, respects decisions of authority, and assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating department performance.

Reports to the therapist delegating a patient and the assigned Manager Director.

Handles additional or varied physical demands and respiratory fit test requirements as applicable.

Manages risk such as exposure to infections, blood and body fluids, mechanical and electrical equipment, chemicals, sharp equipment, bodily injury from lifting, workplace violence, universal safety precautions, hydrocollator, oven/stove/microwave, and noise/odors.

Performs duties that may involve aquatic therapy, community re‑entry and home evaluations, and exposure to weather extremes.

Floats to other units, may be on call, work weekends or flex schedule.

Uses wheelchairs, walkers, and other rehabilitation equipment daily.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

Associate’s Degree from an accredited school or university.

Current Oklahoma Physical Therapy Assistant license.

Certifications

PTA (Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant) OR Temporary PTA (Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant).

BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.

Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
