Job Summary
This role provides direct clinical patient care and assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level. The RN will supervise staff to which appropriate care is delegated, support the CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, maintain competency of clinical staff, and manage resources related to patient care.
Responsibilities
The RN provides high‑quality, safe, cost‑effective, total nursing care to all patients.
The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control, with the goal of discharging the patient with optimum level of care.
Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
Performs and fulfills all HICS responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster.
Knows the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
Qualifications
Education:
Required – Graduated from a state‑approved school of nursing or an accredited school. Preferred – Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing.
Experience:
Preferred – Recent acute care experience.
Certifications (Required):
Current license, certification, or registration to practice nursing as required by law or state regulations; CPR, AHA BLS; and if applicable by corporate policy for the unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
