Overview
I'm currently working directly with a highly respected, nationally recognized law firm in the energy sector that is looking to add an Oil & Gas Attorney to its San Antonio office. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Oil & Gas Attorney who wants to handle sophisticated, high-stakes energy disputes while working alongside a well-established and reputable team. The firm is open to attorneys at the Of Counsel or Partner level and open to relocation.
Responsibilities
• Handle sophisticated, high-stakes energy disputes as part of a respected legal team.
• Independently manage cases from intake through trial or resolution.
• Work on complex oil & gas matters (royalty disputes, lease issues, JOAs, upstream/midstream contracts).
• Provide first-chair trial experience including jury trials, bench trials, and arbitrations where applicable.
• Collaborate with a well-established team to deliver high-quality advocacy and legal writing.
• Maintain strong client/service focus and contribute to case strategy and decision-making.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience as an Oil & Gas Attorney with a focus on litigation and dispute resolution
First-chair trial experience, including jury trials, bench trials, and arbitrations
Background handling complex oil & gas matters (royalty disputes, lease issues, JOAs, upstream/midstream contracts)
Direct, hands-on experience handling oil & gas matters in the Permian Basin
Ability to independently manage cases from intake through trial or resolution
Strong legal writing, research, and advocacy skill set
Active Texas Bar license (or ability to obtain quickly)
Compensation & Benefits
The compensation structure for this Oil & Gas Attorney role is market-competitive and commensurate with experience, with generous performance-based bonuses.
