About the Role

We are seeking an associate attorney with 2+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably defense oriented, to join our Dallas office. This is a hands-on role within a high level, trial-tested practice that spans complex civil litigation, energy related matters, maritime incidents, and business advisory work.
The practice is broad and sophisticated, with a heavy focus on defending high exposure personal injury and wrongful death matters, including trucking, maritime, product liability, and premises liability claims. The practice also includes construction litigation, toxic torts, environmental matters, and significant oil and gas related disputes.
This role offers direct exposure to trial strategy, client counseling, and case ownership, along with opportunities to assist in contract analysis, risk assessment, and outside general counsel type advisory work for business clients.

Responsibilities

Handle a diverse caseload including personal injury, wrongful death, trucking, maritime, product liability, premises liability, and construction litigation matters
Represent regional and national clients, including insurers, transportation companies, oil and gas operators, contractors, and commercial businesses
Participate in all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, hearings, mediation, and trial preparation
Assist in high exposure and complex matters involving energy, environmental, and toxic tort claims
Support contract review and analysis, including master service agreements, indemnity provisions, and commercial agreements
Work directly with senior attorneys and clients in a collaborative, team driven environment
Take ownership of assignments and contribute to an active, fast paced practice

Qualifications

2+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably in defense litigation
Licensed and in good standing in Texas
Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast paced practice
Interest in developing trial skills and working on complex, high value cases

Preferred Experience

Experience in personal injury, trucking, insurance defense, or construction litigation
Exposure to maritime, energy, or product liability matters
Familiarity with contract review or business advisory work
Interest in working closely with senior attorneys on complex litigation
