Position Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of fabrication equipment to produce high-quality parts in a safe, efficient, and accurate manner. This role plays a key part in meeting production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Safely set up, operate, and monitor fabrication equipment.

Interpret work orders, part programs, and blueprints to ensure proper machine setup and tooling selection.

Perform complete machine setups, including program verification, tooling selection, and material matching.

Understand and apply proper die clearance and forming techniques.

Load and position materials including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.

Measure finished parts using tape measures, calipers, and micrometers; make adjustments as needed to maintain accuracy.

Accurately document production data on routing and inspection sheets.

Operate forklifts and overhead cranes in accordance with safety guidelines.

Collaborate with team members to support workflow and production efficiency.

Identify and report equipment issues, quality concerns, or process deviations to appropriate supervisors.

Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and quality standards at all times.

Required Skills & Abilities

Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Strong understanding of fractions, decimals, and basic shop math.

Proficiency with precision measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.

Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.

Training in PPE, GHS, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO); onsite training available if needed.

Forklift and overhead crane certification preferred; onsite training available.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, grasping, and reaching overhead or outward.

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
