Service Technician

Summary

The Service Technician will clean, install, service, repair and refurbish complex vacuum equipment and systems such as pumps, helium leak detectors, and other electronic instruments at our Service Center in Nashua, New Hampshire. The Service Technician will use a wide range of hand and power tools, measuring devices, meters and scopes to test, troubleshoot and repair equipment. The work schedule for this position is M-F 7am-3:30pm.

Duties

Clean, install, service, repair and refurbish complex equipment and systems in the service center (frequent) and at a field site (infrequent).

Adhere to all Quality and Safety procedures of the Company; use appropriate hand and power tools, measuring devices, meters, and scopes to install, test, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and learn about appropriate tools for each job.

Follow the site’s Hazardous Waste Program, including disposal of regulated or hazardous waste, labeling, storage requirements, proper PPE, SAA requirements, spill cleanup and related procedures.

Record activities and complete necessary documentation in the ERP system.

Disassemble equipment.

Confirm customer complaints of returned equipment.

Decontaminate equipment using parts cleaners, degreasers, high‑pressure wash equipment, ultrasonic cleaners and blast media.

Physical Demands
Tasks require walking, sitting, bending, reaching, mobility, and frequent lifting. Work requires computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, data entry via ERP system), attention to detail and accuracy. Communication skills including listening and speaking are required for interaction with other employees, vendors, and customers. The job requires manipulating tools to make fine and major adjustments to test apparatus and equipment, lifting tools and equipment up to 75 pounds and regularly lifting 25‑pound equipment. Employees must be medically cleared and expected to wear required PPE for several hours. Secondary duties may be assigned from time to time.

Position Requirements

High‑School Diploma or GED - Required.

AA degree and/or minimum of 1 year of related experience in the service and repair field of electronic or mechanical equipment - Preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the assembly and troubleshooting of electromechanical systems - Required.

Qualifications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Windows; general background working with computers and office equipment; accurate data entry. General mechanical and electrical aptitude. Ability to follow repair instructions and testing techniques. Ability to work in a team‑oriented environment; self‑starter, motivated, creative, flexible, confident, deadline‑oriented, and able to multi‑task.

Work Environment
This position works in a service center, an indoor, climate‑controlled industrial environment.
