Physical Requirements
Ability to perform the physical requirements necessary for the position include but are not limited to: running, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, sitting on the floor, getting up and down from the floor, and lifting children and/or equipment. Must also have the capacity to provide the children and/or adults with a speech/language model.
Responsibilities
Provide consultation, assessment, and treatment of a variety of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing impairments in patients within hospital areas. Evaluate patients for potential benefit from speaking valves, electrolarynx, and trachea-esophageal prosthesis. Complete documentation of all services provided as well as billing of services as part of the patient care process. May involve supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Education:
Master of Science in Speech Pathology (MS Speech Pathology).
Licensure:
Kentucky Speech-language Pathology (SLP) License and Registration, Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) eligible.
Experience:
None required.
Skills:
Experience with pediatric and/or adult communication evaluation and treatment.
