#139311 (CNA) Sr. Nursing Aide - Telemetry/PCU
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the CNA supports the continuum of care by providing basic patient care and assistance with activities of daily living. Performs uncomplicated technical procedures and utilizes a variety of technical equipment and supplies. Provides patient transport, specimen and blood transport, and inventory management.

This position requires initiative, the ability to prioritize demands, and the ability to work in a team environment. Participates in a collaborative team environment, including training and evaluation of peers, scheduling of work, and assisting the administrative functions of the unit. The patient population includes General Medicine, General Surgery, Cystic Fibrosis, Epilepsy, Advanced Lung Disease, and Bariatric Surgery.

Minimum Qualifications

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

BART or BLS at time of hire, with a commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire date.

Demonstrated ability to observe deviations from normal.

Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients.

Excellent skills in communicating with all staff disciplines, nurses, technologists, physicians, advanced practice providers, and patients, both verbally and in writing.

Ability to critically handle unexpected challenges and collaborate on solutions with a patient‑centered approach.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual: Spanish/English.

Previous acute‑care experience.

IMU or PCU experience.

Medical Terminology Certificate.

Experience with bariatric surgery patients, epilepsy monitoring, stroke, and/or cystic fibrosis patients.

PCIS, UCSD Paging & Scheduling Systems.

Special Conditions

Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $50,279 – $62,452 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%).

Hourly Equivalent: $24.08 – $29.91.

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
