Overview
Job Description
We are searching for a Clinical Ambulatory Services Representative II - Outpatient Wound Care Clinic at The Medical Center. This role works well in a fast-paced setting and provides excellent customer service as the first contact for patients, providers and staff accessing ambulatory clinics. You will expedite the outpatient check-in and check-out processes by reviewing appointment status using the electronic appointment system to view information regarding appointment, insurance, and history. You will collect pre-visit payments and communicate with the clinic liaison regarding factors impacting the patient visit and general clinic-patient flow. You will secure the financial integrity of the patient’s account by verifying benefits and obtaining referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications.
Responsibilities
Performs patient registration procedures per department process
Obtains and verifies patient demographic data for each encounter
Confirms patient appointments, verifying patient demographics and insurance information
Enters, batches, and reconciles charges daily
Ensures that interpreter services are available for patients as needed
Provides basic office support including ordering and maintaining office/clinic supplies; maintaining office equipment; managing correspondence; copying, faxing, mailing and filing documents; and collecting and distributing mail
Serves in a key role to assure the most efficient patient throughput in exam rooms
Qualifications
Certified Medical Assistant is required in one of the following certifications:
CCMA – Cert-Cert Clinical MA (NHA)
CMA-AAM – Cert-Cert Medical Assistant (AAMA)
CMA-C – Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (AMCA)
EMT – Emergency Medical Technician (Texas)
EMT-A – Advanced EMT (Texas)
EMT-B – Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (Texas)
EMT-I – Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate (Texas)
EMT-P – Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (Texas)
LIC PAR – Licensed Paramedic (Texas)
NCMA – National Cert Med Assistant (NCCT)
NRCMA – National Registry Certified Med Assistant (NAHP)
RMA – Registered Medical Assistant (AAHP/AMT/ARRMA)
High school diploma or GED required
2 years of experience in a clinical setting required
Healthcare and/or pediatric experience preferred
Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred
