Position Summary
Clinical Psy.D. faculty members are responsible for teaching, student advisement, chairing dissertations, research/scholarship, professional service to the School and community, and administration. Faculty members are expected to teach in accordance with the School’s workload policy, with potential adjustments based on departmental needs and individual talent. The department seeks individuals who advance equity, diversity, and inclusion through their teaching, scholarship, and service.
Principal Duties
Teaching
Teach over the course of three semesters (at least 18 units).
Hold weekly office hours.
Remain current in the field of study and update course content to reflect new knowledge.
Prepare course syllabus and plans in accord with Department requirements.
Select textbooks and teaching aids as required.
Provide classroom instruction through lectures, demonstrations, discussions, or other appropriate modes of delivery.
Develop and regularly update a system for ongoing evaluation of teaching and student learning.
Supervise doctoral research.
Additional teaching experience in the following areas is preferred:
Psychological assessment
Psychometric theory
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy
Diversity
Ethics and law
Advising
Maintain an advisee load according to Department needs.
Provide mentorship on academic, curricular, and career development.
Assist advisees in preparing vita, training application materials, and write recommendation letters.
Document student progress, craft Academic Development Plans, track compliance, and document progress.
Present advisee progress at Student Review meetings and report findings to Faculty.
Scholarship
Engage in qualitative or quantitative research, present at conferences, and conduct scholarship‑based community service.
Professional Service
Maintain scholarly activities that further the practice of professional psychology.
Foster education of student service in the community.
Engage in community service.
Administration
Participate in Departmental functions: student progress analysis, faculty searches, admissions activities, curriculum development, mentoring new faculty, and other duties as assigned.
Attend faculty meetings and participate in the Faculty Assembly.
Serve on committee(s) as agreed with the Department Chair, including departmental and institutional committees.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Teaching experience of at least 5 years preferred.
Record of scholarship and community service preferred.
Ability to behave collegially and professionally with all members of the TCSPP community.
Ability to adhere to the highest professional conduct and ethical standards of psychology.
Ability to engage in responsibilities with promotion of the TCSPP mission and reputation in mind at all times.
Position Qualifications
Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or Psy.D. from an APA‑accredited program.
Licensed or license‑eligible in California (license must be obtained within two years of hire).

Compensation & Benefits
This opportunity is budgeted at $75,000–$85,000 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
