Position Overview
The Plant Maintenance Technician will repair, maintain and install equipment and building operations including ready‑mix plant and other miscellaneous equipment. This employee will troubleshoot and determine appropriate repairs, replacing defective parts as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Perform plant maintenance, repair, and installation operations, and complete special maintenance projects on all facility equipment as assigned.
Troubleshoot and determine appropriate repairs, replacing defective parts as needed.
Maintain machinery and mechanical equipment in use at the plant.
Diagnose and repair various plumbing needs and diagnose electrical needs at multiple plant locations.
Complete the necessary paperwork required and communicate any maintenance needs to management.
Work with Operations and Plant Managers to coordinate and perform annual certifications for plant facilities and equipment.
Collaborate with Plant Managers to establish timing of routine production schedules, personnel availability, and required parts and equipment for repair.
Safely weld together metal components of products with welding equipment.
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures, and in full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA and EPA practices.
Other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience
High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
Associate’s degree in electrical or mechanical technology; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in building materials or construction industry preferred.
Work Requirements
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must pass pre‑employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license; commercial driver’s license is a plus.
DOT Medical Certificate required for class of maintenance vehicles driven.
Must be able to obtain Crane Operator, Boom Lift, Scissor Lift, Loader, and Forklift Certifications.
Must be proficient with a computer and able to learn and utilize industry programs.
Must be willing to travel to other locations frequently within the workday.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Regular, on‑time and consistent attendance required; willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
Knowledge / Skill Requirements
Knowledge of basic fabrication skills and processes.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety labels and warnings, procedure manuals, installation and technical specifications, as well as carry out written or verbal instructions.
Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems when confronted with inoperable equipment.
Ability to cope well in stressful environments and communicate professionally.
Demonstrate proficiency in using industrial tools to complete assigned tasks effectively.
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co‑workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Willingness and ability to work in and adapt to changes in circumstances, tasks, and other conditions that may affect daily responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
Able to frequently walk, sit, climb, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch and crawl.
Able to regularly use hands and fingers to manipulate objects, controls or signals, stand, push/pull, and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level.
Able to frequently lift and or move up to 15 pounds, regularly lift and or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
Able to climb ladders and work at heights as well as work in tight quarters.
Vision abilities (with correction) required include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Various noise levels, adverse weather conditions, and complex job sites are to be expected daily. Proper clothing, personal protective equipment is required, and safety precautions should be taken to ensure your safety and the safety of others in all conditions.
