Responsibilities
Perform advanced diagnostics on vehicles using scan tools, software, and hands‑on testing
Accurately identify the root cause of complex mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues
Diagnose and repair systems including engine performance, brakes, suspension, steering, HVAC, and electrical systems
Interpret diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), wiring diagrams, and technical service bulletins (TSBs)
Communicate findings and recommended repairs clearly with service advisors and customers
Complete repairs correctly the first time, adhering to manufacturer and shop standards
Test‑drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify proper operation
Document diagnostic steps, labor, and repairs accurately in the shop management system
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Required Qualifications
3+ years of professional automotive repair experience, with a strong focus on diagnostics
Advanced knowledge of automotive electrical and computer‑controlled systems
Proficiency with diagnostic scan tools and repair databases
ASE Certifications (A6, A8, or L1 preferred) or equivalent experience
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications
ASE Master Technician certification
Experience diagnosing European, Asian, and/or domestic vehicles
Emissions and drivability diagnostic expertise
Skills & Competencies
Critical thinking and logical troubleshooting ability
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Time management and productivity focus
