Position Summary
West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry seek a Psychologist (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will practice at William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital in Weston, WV.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive psychological assessments and evidence‑based treatment for adults with a range of psychiatric diagnoses, including forensic involvement.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, clinical social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Supervise and mentor WVU Psychiatry residents, forensic fellows, and trainees from other disciplines.
Support the hospital's commitment to quality care for involuntarily committed patients, fostering recovery and rehabilitation.
Qualifications
PhD or PsyD degree (or foreign equivalent) and eligibility for state psychology license.
Completion of APA/CPA accredited clinical psychology graduate program and an APA/CPA accredited internship.
Eligibility to sit for ABPP in clinical psychology.
Immediate eligibility for licensure in West Virginia.
All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Schedule and Compensation
40 weekly hours.
Classified as exempt within the United States of America.
