Responsibilities

Practice in the area of Pain Psychology and be located primarily within the WVU Center for Integrative Pain Management.
Engage in clinical, teaching/supervision, and research responsibilities.
Lead the behavioral unit of the CIPM and serve on the WVU Medicine Medical Staff Affairs Pain Committee.
Provide evaluations for candidacy for opioids or implantable devices and implement evidence-based group or individual treatment within the integrated pain center.
Contribute to patient care and actively participate in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, engage in research.
Qualifications

PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology from an APA/CPA-accredited graduate program with an APA/CPA-approved internship and immediate licensure eligibility in West Virginia.
For appointment at the Associate Professor rank, demonstrated leadership, clinical and teaching excellence, and scholarly activity.
For appointment at the Professor rank, Board Certification (ABPP) is required.
All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
About the Center and Mission

The WVU Medicine Center for Integrative Pain Management treats the whole person, offering a multi-disciplinary approach with services including Behavioral Health, clinical group and individual therapy, chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, nutrition, and physical movement services.
Researchers at the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute have developed innovative clinical trials toward non-opioid treatments for a range of pain conditions aligned with the center's mission to combat the opioid crisis.
Organization Context

WVU Anesthesiology has the largest anesthesia practice in the state and is the only anesthesiology residency-training program. The department has more than 150 credentialed clinicians. The Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry supports professional development with mentoring for clinical services, teaching/training, and scholarship.
WVU Medicine is West Virginia University's affiliated health system, the state's largest private employer, and a national leader in patient safety and quality.
