Responsibilities
The Clinical Nutrition Instructor plans, implements and evaluates dietetic interns’ activities related to the assigned area (Medical Nutrition Therapy or Food Services and Management). The role assists in program planning, implementation and evaluation of the internship, works with assigned clinical or management staff to facilitate intern learning, and promotes the internship throughout the hospital and the community. This role does not directly work with patients.
Licensure Requirements for Hire
Registered as a Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association.
Licensure Requirements for Continued Employment
Maintenance of Registered Dietitian status with the American Dietetic Association.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Registered Dietitian.
Minimum of five (5) years experience in dietetic education.
Education Requirements
Masters Degree in Dietetics or a related field from an accredited program.
Independent Actions
Responsible for self‑monitoring of performance. Independently makes decisions specific to the internship and manages own time and daily responsibilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsible for the supervision of 12 Dietetic Interns throughout the year.

Physical lifting of 20–50 lbs.
