The Clinical Nutrition Instructor plans, implements, and evaluates dietetic interns' activities related to assigned areas (Medical Nutrition Therapy or Food Services and Management). The instructor assists in program planning, implementation, and evaluation of the internship, working with assigned clinical or management staff to facilitate intern learning. The role promotes the internship throughout the hospital and the community and does not directly work with patients.
Licensure, Certification, and Registration Requirements
Registered as a Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association.
Maintenance of Registered Dietitian status with the American Dietetic Association.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Registered Dietitian.
Minimum of five (5) years experience in dietetic education.
Education Requirements
Master’s Degree in Dietetics or related field from an accredited program.
Independent Actions
Responsible for self‑monitoring of performance.
Independently makes decisions specific to the internship.
Manages own time and daily responsibilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsible for the supervision of 12 Dietetic Interns throughout the year.
Position Details
Age Specific groups served: Adult.
Physical Requirements: Physical lifting 20‑50 lbs.
Mental/Sensory: Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, write legibly.
Emotional: Steady pace, able to handle multiple priorities.
