Responsibilities
Clarion Psychiatric Center is looking for a dynamic new team member. Our Dietitian plans modified diets as requested by the attending physician/licensed practitioner, provides nutritional assessments for patients as needed, and counsels patients and their families on dietary plans, food selections, preparation and nutritional principles, and group facilitation. The Dietitian will spend quality time with our patients educating them on the importance of good nutrition and a well-balanced diet. The Dietitian will also educate Clarion Psychiatric Center's staff on nutritional information.
Clarion Psychiatric Center offers inpatient treatment for adults with moderate to severe psychiatric problems, inpatient crisis stabilization for children and adolescents, and a Partial Hospitalization Program for school-aged children. Our recently expanded 112-bed inpatient program has 4 units. For over 30 years, Clarion has provided the community a compassionate and respectful therapeutic environment with an emphasis on strong teamwork.

Qualifications
Education:
Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in nutritional studies. State certification/licensure preferred.
Experience:
Preferably three (3) years dietary experience in a health care facility, with concentration in nutritional assessment and planning.
Knowledge / Skills:
Knowledge of all facets of nutritional and dietary planning. Knowledge of JCAHO Standards. Knowledge of the unique dietary needs of various age groups (child, adolescent, adult and geriatric). Knowledge of nutritional menu planning and skill in interpreting and applying this knowledge to patient needs.
General Working Environment:
Hospital setting. Staff working in this position may be required to intervene and assist with aggressive patients. Works in a well lighted and ventilated setting, is subject to frequent interruptions, is involved with the patients and personnel throughout designated unit under varying conditions and circumstances. Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to HIV and Hepatitis B Viruses.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and be able to walk and stand for long periods. Able to participate in crisis prevention intervention. The Physical Requirements described herein are representative of those, which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job.
