Job Summary
The Licensed Therapist will provide high‑quality therapeutic services at We Rise Up, LLC, ensuring compliance with Medicaid guidelines and delivering client‑centered care. This position involves direct collaboration with the Clinical Director and staff to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions using evidence‑based practices. The Therapist will focus on empowering individuals and families, supporting their recovery, and promoting long‑term resilience through compassionate care. Licensed Therapists may be required to provide clinical supervision to Associate Professionals (APs) and Paraprofessionals (PPs) under the guidance of the Clinical Director.
Responsibilities
Provide telehealth and in‑person therapy services to individuals, families, and groups.
Conduct intake assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health needs and develop treatment plans.
Use evidence‑based therapeutic practices, including trauma‑informed care, to guide interventions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with Medicaid, HIPAA, and organizational standards.
Collaborate with the Clinical Director and staff to ensure cohesive and effective client care.
Educate clients and families on recovery strategies, resources, and self‑advocacy.
Participate in professional development, training sessions, and team meetings.
Provide crisis intervention and referrals when necessary.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience providing therapy services, preferably in Medicaid or behavioral health settings.
Strong understanding of Medicaid guidelines, HIPAA compliance, and evidence‑based therapeutic practices.
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
Strong understanding of the recovery process and trauma‑informed care.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
Education
Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related human services field.
Certifications
CPR, NCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention), First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens Certifications (Preferred)
Licensing & Insurance
Proof of Professional Liability Insurance
Full clinical licensure in North Carolina as one of the following:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a hybrid work setting, including telehealth and in‑person services.
Familiarity with Medicaid documentation and billing processes.
Familiarity with community resources in North Carolina.
Experience working with underserved or diverse populations.
Work Environment
This role offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for a mix of telehealth and in‑person therapy sessions. Telehealth sessions will be conducted from a private, secure location, while in‑person sessions will take place in the office. Therapists are expected to maintain a professional and confidential workspace for both modes of service delivery. The schedule is flexible, with occasional adjustments to meet client needs or attend team meetings.
Physical Demands
Therapists will spend extended periods sitting while conducting sessions or completing documentation. The role may also require occasional standing or walking during in‑office work. Reliable transportation is necessary for travel to the office for in‑person sessions. The position demands mental and emotional resilience to effectively support clients through challenging situations while maintaining professionalism.
