Position Summary
The Engineering Intern gains hands-on experience in a shipbuilding engineering environment by supporting technical projects and documentation under the guidance of experienced engineers. This role is designed to build foundational engineering skills through exposure to real-world design, testing, and engineering processes.
Domestic travel may be required.
Essential Functions
Assist engineers with technical deliverables, including development of drawings, calculations, reports, and responses to customer comments
Support engineering design and drafting activities, including 2D drawing development, 3D modeling, and defining material requirements for assigned projects
Assist with testing activities, including preparation, dockside testing, and sea trials as needed
Collaborate with engineering staff on assigned projects while following all organizational standards and procedures
Other duties as assigned
