Job Description Summary
Road Mechanic
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic/Technician. The role performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of equipment including aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and specialty lines such as large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems and oil & gas equipment. The work is performed in remote locations with a focus on safety and minimizing downtime.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment.
Work on a variety of makes, models and equipment in challenging remote locations.
Develop new skills for a career track in service or operation management.
Work with an incredible team of people in a safety‑focused environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training desired.
3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment such as large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC or oil & gas equipment.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (21 years of age; CDL license may be required in some locations).
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Must be willing to provide mechanic’s tools of trade.
Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs.
Physical Demands
The role requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required.

Base Pay Range
$24.05 - $33.06 per hour.
