
Staff Civil Engineer
Pennoni, Haddon Heights, NJ, United States
We are hiring an experienced professional to join our team as a Staff Engineer and contribute to our multi-discipline design projects on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Haddon Heights, NJ. Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) are essential. This person will have the opportunity to work on a variety of private and public site development projects across various markets.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform zoning interpretation and prepare feasibility studies, drawings, specifications, and reports.
Design and detail site layout, grading, roadway, and utilities.
Contribute to stormwater management design: Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling, Erosion and Sediment Control (E&SC) planning, etc.
Utilize advanced understanding of ordinances / regulations (local, state, & federal) as well as the relevant permitting process(es) to ensure compliance.
Engage with regulatory agencies.
Manage all aspects of project efforts and interface with clients.
Nurture existing client relationships as well as developing new clients.
Mentor junior-level staff.
Provide quality control of staff design & reports.
Prepare proposals and track project budgets for profitability.
Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably Civil Engineering).
4+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with land development projects.
We are willing to consider a higher-level position for a candidate that qualifies with additional experience accordingly.
Preferred Qualifications
P.E. license in NJ is preferred.
Experience working on land development and infrastructure improvement projects.
Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g.: CADD, project management software, etc.); exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bluebeam is a plus!
Experience with stormwater management (SWM) design calculations, especially while utilizing H&H modeling tools.
Proficiency on standard office software applications: Microsoft Office 365 (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, etc.
Proven ability to look at the "Big Picture" as well the project goals in order to coordinate various design disciplines accordingly.
Proven track record of demonstrating punctuality with consistent attendance.
Proven ability to work in an energetic & challenging team environment as a collaborative Team Player, especially while maintaining the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Proven ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills, especially when working on a variety of projects while providing solutions to difficult issues.
Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
Target salary range: $85K - $125k per year.
