
Associate Civil Engineer

We are looking for an experienced professional to join our team as an Associate Engineer to contribute to multi‑discipline design projects on a full‑time, direct basis at our office in Cape May Court House, NJ. This person will work on a variety of private and public development projects across various markets.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform due diligence tasks to determine site development feasibility.
Prepare site plan development drawings; this involves taking land survey data to develop a site plan package that is compliant with municipal regulations.
Design and detail facility demolition, site layout, grading, utilities, profiles, etc.
Design and detail stormwater management: hydrologic & hydraulic modeling, erosion control, sediment control, relevant design calculations, etc.
Preparation of permit applications.
Preparation of engineering reports that present technical information to demonstrate compliance with client requirements and/or regulatory requirements.
Direct coordination with regulatory agency staff.
Responses to regulatory agency comment letters.
Assistance with client coordination.
Assistance with proposal writing.
Assist with mentoring junior‑level staff.
Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering‑oriented discipline (preferably Civil Engineering).
2+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with land development projects.
Preferred Qualifications
FE / EIT.
Experience working on land development and/or municipal engineering projects.
Experience with stormwater management, especially while utilizing Hydrology and Hydraulics (H&H) modeling tools, is a plus.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Proven ability to prepare a site plan package for submission to local jurisdiction(s) is a plus.
Proficiency in basic office software applications, especially Microsoft Office 365.
Exposure to regulatory agency coordination.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision while displaying a positive attitude.
Excellent organizational skills, ability to work in an energetic and challenging environment, self‑motivated, able to multi‑task and prioritize multiple assignments.
Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
Target salary range: $70k – $85k per year.
