Overview
Position Summary
This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repair, and service of fleet trucks and heavy equipment.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Have knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Perform highly skilled and complex mechanical repairs on heavy equipment, including, but not limited to excavators, loaders, graders and commercial vehicles.
Ability to do math, follow verbal and written instruction.
Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
Basic knowledge of computers.
Responsibilities
Ensure all repairs and preventative maintenance are completed according to the manufacture's specifications and guidelines.
Provide safe and reliable vehicles upon completion of repairs and preventative maintenance.
Repairs or replaces defective parts.
Perform servicing company vehicles and equipment according to company procedures as required.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Lubricates and cleans parts.
Identify and report vehicle and machine damage, safety concerns and malfunctions to supervisor.
Record all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system.
Observe all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
Maintain an organized, clean and safe work area.
Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with drivers, operators, and technicians.
Diagnose causes of any malfunction and perform repair.
Inspect equipment conditions (wear, alignment, function, etc.) and monitor oil flow and temperature observing gauges to measure performance.
Work hours adjusted to meet the project's needs, days, nights and weekends.
Able to work in adverse weather conditions, hot or cold temperatures.
Education, Requirements And Experience
2 + years of experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment and machinery
Some welding and fabrication experience is preferred
Experience utilizing aftertreatment systems, CAT, ET, and SIS.
You must have your own and be skilled in the operation of a variety of tools and equipment used in the repair of trucks and heavy equipment.
