
Preconstruction Manager

Overview
CEIS is looking for a Preconstruction Manager to lead preconstruction efforts and support successful project delivery on complex and hyperscale construction projects. This role is responsible for managing estimates, coordinating preconstruction activities, and ensuring all deliverables are accurate, complete, and aligned with client expectations. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in estimating, team leadership, and client engagement, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive projects from concept through design development. This individual will serve as a key leader between internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
Responsibilities
Develop conceptual and detailed estimates for projects across civil, structural, and exterior envelope scopes
Review and support project purchasing plans and bid package development
Provide input to project schedules in coordination with operations teams
Lead and manage a team of estimators, defining work plans, deliverables, and responsibilities
Oversee all preconstruction deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality
Present estimates and project approaches to internal leadership and external clients
Manage subcontractor engagement, including outreach, bid coordination, and scope alignment
Collaborate with project managers, A/E teams, consultants, and owners throughout preconstruction
Support constructability reviews and value engineering efforts
Utilize BIM models and related tools to support estimating and planning efforts
Maintain strong client relationships and support business development efforts
Assist with additional duties as required to support team and project objectives
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5 to 10 years of experience in estimating, preconstruction, project controls, or engineering
Strong knowledge of construction methods, practices, and project execution
Experience leading teams and managing preconstruction workflows
Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with high attention to detail
Experience working with subcontractors, consultants, and cross-functional teams
Familiarity with BIM tools and construction technologies preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
